This Center offers a gathering spot for the senior community, providing education and recreation facilities. It includes a meeting hall that serves as the locus for day-to-day events such as breakfasts and lunches, movies, games, exercise activities, and special events such as banquets and weddings.

The program areas are positioned to put people at the intersections and overlaps between activities. The edges of the activity spaces are transparent, providing an outlook for seniors to the street and landscape beyond. The goal includes engaging those passing by with views of the activities within.

The main path within the Senior Center extends to an adjacent senior housing complex, moves by the meeting hall, and continues out to the community parking lot. Along this path are informal and formal meeting places: an indoor “plaza,” an art room, a game room, the computer classroom as well as outdoor plazas and recreation activities.
